Summary
In order to facilitate the UVA FM-Energy amd Utilities Department’s geospatial information technology objectives, WorldView Solutions provided geographic information system (GIS) migration pre-planning consulting services. One of the first tasks typically associated with a GIS migration was the development of a geospatial needs assessment and a strategic implementation plan. WorldView provided a preliminary assessment of the University’s geospatial assets, supporting systems, and key stakeholders. This approach uncovered enough information and supplied sufficient consultation and expertise to allow the budgeting for and drafting of a bid solicitation that will fulfill the vast majority of the University’s GIS implementation needs in a single project.
