ConservationGIS Web Portal
Summary
WorldView developed an ArcGIS Server portal application that provides project and role driven maps and tools for use on Conservation Fund enterprise resource management projects for NiSource. Application functionality is configured and managed by Fund GIS staff using ArcGIS Desktop. Site functionality includes a mapping file management site, Windows explorer GIS data tools, and user friendly web mapping interface. View the ConservationGIS Portal.
Internment Camp Mapping
In 2005, the Conservation Fund established its Japanese-American Internment Camp Preservation Initiative to acquire lands once used as campsites to intern more than 120,000 Japanese-Americans during World War II. The sites stand today as a reminder of the injustices done to those Americans. WorldView has worked closely with TCF on the development of cartographic products the support their efforts to purchase unprotected land at the sites and to increase their level of protection through either federal legislation or national historic landmark designation.
Tennessee Land Use / Land Cover
Summary
Working with its partner The Conservation Fund, WorldView developed a set of high resolution raster and vector data products depicting a dozen land use / land cover classifications within the Mill Creek watershed in central Tennessee. Data was developed using the 2009 NAIP imagery, vector impervious data sources, and LiDAR data using automated feature extraction tools available in Esri’s ArcGIS Desktop. The resulting dataset supports the Fund’s open space assessment and protection efforts in the watershed.
