Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Toolkit / Conservation Plan Manager Replacement
Summary
WorldView Solutions is developing a series of web and desktop tools to support the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Conservation District's (LCCD) conservation planning activities. This involves replacing an independently developed database application called the Conservation Program Manager, primarily used to create and administer Nutrient Management Plans, Erosion and Sediment Plans and a suite of Conservation Plan development and tracking tools developed by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and housed within their tightly controlled network environment.
WorldView is developing a solution that replaces and enhances the functionality of the abovementioned applications.
To this end, WorldView will:
- Create a spatially enabled, normalized relational database model
- Implement a database model that:
- Supports concurrent editing by multiple Ag Conservation Technicians
- Is relevant to the LCCD's specific information requirements
- Is extensible to evolve with the District's needs
- Improves performance versus the current Access and NRCS databases
- Establish an open, extensible application framework in support of conservation planning and monitoring tasks
- Reduce or eliminate redundant workflows
- Where appropriate, automate data gathering tasks
- Replace proprietary NRCS tools and data with a solution that functions within the LCCD network.
- Acquire flexible reporting tools that support automated template-based standard reporting, as well as creation of new reports that can be optionally saved for later reuse and modification.
