Summary
For over a decade, Henrico County has been a leader in the development of GIS for local governments in Virginia. To build on this success, the Henrico County Department of Public Works has awarded WorldView a GIS services contract in which we are providing the County with spatial data and application services over a period of one year, with four optional renewal years. The County has also executed an Enterprise License Agreement with Esri, and our team is working closely with the County to insure that this agreement provides a strong return on investment for the County. WorldView will also continue to provide additional support services under its separate GIS services contract with the County's Department of Public Utilities. Among the projects with which WorldView is currently supporting the County, is the Richmond / Henrico data replication project. This Virginia Wireless Board E-911 Services Board grant project involves the integration and synchronization of relevant datasets to better facilitate the execution of the mutual aid agreement between the City and the County.
Linear Referencing System
Summary
Worldview Solutions is the sole GIS contractor under the County’s annual GIS services contract. Among other projects, WorldView developed a countywide, street-name based linear referencing system. This system allows the County to apply measure event data related to road maintenance on contiguous route data being developed for the entire County. Future applications of this system will include snow plow mapping and integration with the County’s work order management system.
