GIS Web Map Viewer and GIS Consulting Services

The City of Charlottesville, Virginia, recently awarded WorldView Solutions a contract to develop a web mapping application. This application will provide constituents with access to a complete set of maps, data, and tools from the City’s web site. As part of the contract, WorldView also has the option to provide ten years of ongoing GIS support services to the City.
City of Hampton GIS Services

The City of Hampton, Virginia has contracted with WorldView Solutions to provide an upgrade and enhancement to their existing GIS systems and software, in addition to providing ongoing support services for all GIS related systems, products, and services. The enhancements will provide Hampton with the tools and services to enable deployment of GIS on the web for citizen access, in addition to integration with internal City applications and services.
Pennsylvania Master IT Services Contract

WorldView has been awarded contract 4400008244 with the Pennsylvania Department of General Services | Master IT Services ITQ 4400004480. WorldView contract includes Geospatial Technologies / Geospatial Information Systems (GT/GIS) Services and Software Development Services and is open to any Commonwealth of Pennsylvania agency.
General GIS Consulting Services

WorldView, in partnership with Michael Baker Jr. Inc. and Bowman Consulting, has been awarded a contract by Hanover County to provide general GIS consulting services. As a first task under the contract, WorldView will develop on ArcGIS Server mobile application for the County Sheriff’s Office. Future ongoing services can include database design, data conversion, survey monumentation, and application development.
Conservation District Tracking Application

The Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Conservation District has awarded WorldView a contract for developing desktop and web based applications to replace their existing BMP and Conservation Planning management software. These applications will provide desktop users with core GIS data maintenance tools while allowing general users to view, edit and maintain BMP and Conservation Plan data from within the District’s tracking web site.
Henrico Linear Referencing System

The Henrico County GIS Department has begun a project with WorldView, as part of its annual services contract, to develop a countywide, street-name based linear referencing system. This system will allow the County to apply measure event data related to road maintenance on contiguous route data being developed for the entire County. Future applications of this system will include snow plow mapping and integration with the County’s work order management system.
DEQ TMDL Conversion

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality has contracted with WorldView to convert and integrate all statewide TMDL data into the new database and maintenance application, also developed by WorldView. The database conversion effort will integrate all reporting data, including watersheds, permits and equations for each TMDL in the Commonwealth of Virginia, providing DEQ with a baseline of data for future system maintenance.
Henrico Work Order Management System

The Henrico County Department of Public Utilities has engaged WorldView to provide ongoing support throughout its upcoming Work Order Management System (WMS) deployment. WorldView will provide GIS services related to data preparation, QC and design review, program support, and application maintenance related to the WMX project.
Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation Municipal Storm Water Best Management Practices (BMP) Application

In partnership with Virginia Interactive, WorldView Solutions will develop the enterprise mapping components for the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation’s new Municipal Storm Water Best Management Practices (BMP) application. The mapping components will be fully integrated with Virginia Interactive’s web mapping application, allowing users to track Storm Water BMP data, apply spatial data in the storm water credit process, and take advantage of robust markup sharing and collaboration tools.
ArcGIS Server Mobile Application | Spotsylvania County, Virginia, Department of Utilities

WorldView has deployed an ArcGIS Server Mobile application for the Spotsylvania County, Virginia, Department of Utilities. The application, which has been deployed on five ruggedized Trimble Nomad handheld GPS units, will be used for the County’s comprehensive water hydrant flushing project. County staff, as part of the hydrant flushing process, are using the application to store data about flushing events while the application automatically geolocates the hydrant and associated GIS data as the user fills out the hydrant flushing inspection form.
VDOT Road Inventory Management System (RIMS)

The Virginia Department of Transportation has awarded WorldView a contract to develop, over three phases, a Thin Client application for the agency’s Road Inventory Management System (RIMS). RIMS will provide users with access to millions of inventory records, related to VDOT roads and functionality, to manage inventory change requests, address complex data editing requirements, and integration with many other VDOT systems.
City of Danville Launches myCommunity Map

The City of Danville has launched its new myCommunity Map application, which provides the citizens of Danville with access to detailed mapping information about the City’s diverse community. Using Esri’s Silverlight API for ArcGIS Server, WorldView has built a user-friendly tabbed workflow and robust set of query and analysis tools for the City.
VDOT Centerline Transition Project

In partnership with Esri, WorldView has been selected by the Virginia Department of Transportation to develop tools for transitioning the agency from using its current road centerline product to an Enterprise Road Centerline based on data developed and maintained by the Virginia Geographic Information Network. The project includes development of data import and conflation tools, replication strategies, desktop editing tools, and automation capabilities using Esri’s workflow management tools.
Silverlight Redistricting Application

The Virginia Division of Legislative Services (DLS) provides research for the General Assembly legislators and information for the public, including data on state legislative and congressional districts. As part of the 2010 Census, Virginia is one of the first states to begin the redistricting process and will finish all redistricting in the Commonwealth before the end of the year. To assist with this effort, WorldView has been contracted by DLS to develop a redistricting web site using Esri’s ArcGIS Server Silverlight API. The web site will provide access to 2010 Census demographics, redistricting data, and functionality for commenting on redistricting plans as they become available in the Spring.
